ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ: Senstar retired Intelli-FLEX in 2014 and FlexPS in 2019, and ended all FlexPS repair services on 14 March 2024. If either processor fails today, there is no factory repair path. RBtec’s IRONCLAD (chain link and flexible mesh) and MicAlert (welded mesh, palisade and rigid fence) are drop-in modern replacements that work with your existing sensor cable: same 300 m class zones, same dual-zone processor architecture, same dry-contact relay outputs into the alarm panel or VMS you already run, and both are in production with a warranty.
Where FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX stand today
Intelli-FLEX (and Intelli-FLEX II) was Senstar’s microphonic fence sensor of the 2000s; it was retired in 2014 and succeeded by FlexPS, which used the same sensor cable family and the same dual-zone architecture. Senstar’s FlexPS retirement bulletin (No. 2016PB005C) then set out this timeline:
| നാഴികക്കല്ല് | Date |
|---|---|
| Retirement bulletin issued | 14 February 2019 |
| Last order date, no new sales after | 30 June 2019 |
| Repair moves to “reasonable effort” basis | 31 December 2022 |
| All repair services discontinued | 14 March 2024 |
The bulletin points existing customers to FlexZone, FiberPatrol or LM100. It does not offer a migration kit, a cable reuse path or pricing, and Senstar publishes no FlexPS replacement page. That leaves every FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX site with the same decision: keep running unsupported hardware, or replace it on your own terms.
What FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX were, and what replaces them
Both were fence-mounted microphonic sensors. A coaxial sensor cable (MEX or Mark 2) clipped to the fence fabric picked up the vibration and sound of cutting, climbing and crawling under, and a dual-zone processor on the fence line analyzed it. RBtec’s fence sensors work on exactly the same principle, which is why the swap is direct.

Which RBtec sensor replaces your FlexPS or Intelli-FLEX?
It depends on the fence, not the old processor.
- Intelli-FLEX or FlexPS (MEX cable) on chain link or weld mesh → IRONCLAD വേലി അലാറം സംവിധാനം. Same flexible-fence use case, same zone lengths.
- Intelli-FLEX or FlexPS (Mark 2 cable) on palisade or vinyl-coated rigid fence → MicAlert മൈക്രോഫോണിക് സെൻസർ കേബിൾ. Mark 2 was Senstar’s higher-sensitivity option for rigid fence; MicAlert is built for that job.
- Very long perimeters, or sites tired of processors on the fence line → RaySense fiber optic. One cable, up to 100 km, no field electronics, locates events to a few meters.

What you keep, what changes
A FlexPS or Intelli-FLEX replacement is far smaller than a new installation, because the expensive parts of the old system are the parts that do not change.
You keep
- The sensor cable on the fence. Existing FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX sensor cable can be connected to the RBtec LPU processor. If the cable is intact, it stays on the fence. If sections have failed after years of UV and weather, only those zones are re-cabled with RBtec cable, which ships pre-cut to zone length.
- The fence and its condition work (tensioning, cleared vegetation, tightened fittings). Senstar’s guide required the same preparation ours does.
- The zone plan. A 300 m FlexPS or 305 m Intelli-FLEX zone maps directly onto a 305 m IRONCLAD or MicAlert zone, so zone boundaries, gate bypasses and camera presets stay where they are.
- The processor locations, power feeds, enclosure posts and conduit.
- The alarm wiring. FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX reported on dry-contact relays; so do IRONCLAD and MicAlert. The panel, VMS or SCADA input does not know the difference.
What changes
- The processor. One RBtec LPU per two zones, mounted in the same location, wired to the existing sensor cable and the existing relay outputs.
- Calibration. IRONCLAD self-calibrates to the fence when it powers up; fine tuning is done on the unit or in software, without a paid certification course.
Because the cable stays on the fence, a typical two-zone site is a processor swap: one technician, a few hours per processor, and a walk test of each zone.
Why not just move to FlexZone?
You can. FlexZone is a capable product, and for a site that needs ranging (locating a cut to within a few meters on one long cable) it may be the right answer. Before you do, ask:
- Do you need ranging? Most FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX sites were designed around 300 m zones and cameras preset per zone. A zoned replacement keeps that design working. Ranging is worth paying for on very long fences with few cameras, and RBtec’s answer to that requirement is RaySense fiber optic.
- What does support cost? Senstar’s baseline is a 3-year warranty with limited factory support; 2-business-day advance replacement and 24/7 access require a paid Senstar Care contract. IRONCLAD cable carries a 10-year warranty, and the processor boards are swappable in the field.
- Who commissions it? FlexZone commissioning goes through Senstar-certified installers. RBtec systems are set up by your own integrator with direct engineering support from us.

No. Senstar's retirement bulletin 2016PB005C sets the last order date at 30 June 2019 and states that all repair services were discontinued on 14 March 2024.
No. Intelli-FLEX was retired in 2014 and succeeded by FlexPS, which has itself been retired. Neither has a factory repair path today.
RBtec IRONCLAD for chain link and flexible mesh, or RBtec MicAlert for palisade, welded mesh and rigid fence. Both use 305 m zones, dual-zone processors and dry-contact relay outputs, so they drop into an existing FlexPS or Intelli-FLEX zone plan and alarm wiring.
Yes. Existing FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX sensor cable can be connected to the RBtec LPU processor, so a working installation is upgraded by replacing the processor only. Damaged cable sections are replaced with RBtec cable on the same fence line.
Normally no. FlexPS and Intelli-FLEX reported alarms on dry-contact relays; IRONCLAD and MicAlert do the same, with additional tamper and power-fail relays. Optional RS-485 or IP reporting is available on IRONCLAD.
A typical two-zone site is a processor swap of a few hours, because the sensor cable, fence preparation, processor location, power and alarm wiring are all reused.
For sites that need to locate an event to a few meters on a long fence, RBtec offers RaySense fiber optic sensing, which covers up to 100 km on one cable with no electronics in the field.
