FiberPDS – Fiber Optic Communication Infrastructure Security System

Fiber Optic Communication Infrastructure Security – Long Range Protected Distribution System

Fiber Optic Sensor to Detect Physical Attacks on Network Infrastructure

  • Can monitor existing fiber optic cable or a new one.
  • Up to 100km/62miles per processing unit.
  • 24/7/365 monitoring for tampering – eliminates daily visual inspections
  • Sensing 1 standard single-mode fiber
  • Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Technology
  • Within 3m/10ft resolution over the entire fiber.
  • Signature-based detection – Detection By Classification.
  • No electronics or power is required in the field.
  • Software based zones
  • The sensor can be attached along the outside of the pipe/tray or threaded inside the pipe/tray.
  • Can use Dark Fibers or New Fiber cable
  • Fits any Communication Infrastructure

The system is designed for Long haul point to point protection. The processor will be located at one end and connected to 3 fibers that go the whole length of the infrastructure to be monitored from one central location up to 31mile/50km in one direction.

The system is a physical cyber security solution for the protected and secured distribution system. The system allows to add an intrusion detection element to traditional conduits and cable trays.
The system excels at supporting the growing demand for connections to classified networks while offering cost savings, enhanced security, and the situational awareness required in today’s environment.

FiberPDS - Fiber Optic Network Infrastructure Security

The system allows the user to monitor and protect any network infrastructure such as conduits, pipes, raceways, and cable trays.
Typical Alarmed Carrier PDS Applications Include:

  • Point-to-point (e.g. server to server, data center to data center)
  • Encryption Alternative for indoor and outdoor environment

The system PDS alarm system enhances network infrastructure security and lowers the risk of tampering through the replacement of the human visual inspection process required to secure a traditional secured distribution system.
While encryption is an effective method for the protection of information the added layer of physical protection to the cables assures that no foreign invader can access the information inside the cables.

System Advantages of an Alarmed Carrier based on Fiber Optic

  • Provides instant notification of unauthorized access, tampering, intrusion attempts, tapping attempts, and accidental damage.
  • Provides central alarm monitoring to real-time alarms for long-range/long-haul fiber-optic networks.
  • Allows cost-effective protection of Government networks.
  • Eliminates the need for visible inspection requirements when securing a PDS.
  • Network Infastracture can be concealed above the ceiling or below the floor.
  • Compliant for use at U.S. Government installations built in accordance with the guidelines of CNSSI No.7003
