Private Estates & Residences

Large private properties have long, irregular boundaries — walls, hedges, gates and open ground — and no security team on site. RBtec detects an intruder at the boundary and reports where, before they reach the house.

What makes a private estate hard to protect?

A large property has a long boundary and nobody watching it. Walls, hedges, railings, a main gate, a service entrance and usually a stretch of open ground or tree line all form part of the same perimeter, and each behaves differently. Cameras cover what they can see, and darkness and foliage take most of that away. By the time an intruder is close enough for a door or window contact to react, they are already at the house.

Where does an intruder actually cross?

Rarely at the front gate. The crossing point is normally the least visible part of the boundary — behind a hedge, at the bottom of the garden, along a field edge, or over a wall screened by trees. That is precisely where a camera has no useful view, and precisely where a passive detector belongs. Detecting the crossing buys the one thing an internal alarm cannot give you: time.

How do you detect without false alarms every windy night?

This is the objection that kills most residential perimeter systems, and it is a fair one. RBtec sensors process the signal to separate a person climbing, cutting or crossing from the wind, rain, animals and passing traffic that move a boundary all night. On a fence line the IRONCLAD fence alarm system applies three layers of filtering before it raises anything. Sensitivity is set on site against live walk tests on your own boundary, not taken from a default.

What about the parts of the boundary with no fence?

Most estates have them — a drive, a paddock, a lawn running down to a tree line. Seismo buried ground sensors detect footsteps and vehicles through the ground itself, with nothing visible on the surface. Nothing is mounted, nothing is seen, and nothing spoils the view from the house. Where the boundary is longer, buried fiber-optic detection covers the same idea over greater distances.

Which RBtec products fit private estates?

  • IRONCLAD. Fence-mounted detection for railings, mesh and palisade, zoned so an alert names the section.
  • Seismo ground sensors. Buried and invisible, for lawns, drives and open approaches with no fence.
  • WallAlert. Detection on solid walls, where an intruder climbs rather than cuts.
  • MicAlert. Microphonic sensor cable for longer boundary runs at lower cost per meter.

How does an estate project run?

It starts with the boundary, not the product. A survey walks the whole perimeter and marks where somebody would realistically cross, what that section is built from, and where cable can run. That produces a zone plan — usually four to eight zones, so an alert tells you which part of the grounds was crossed rather than just that something happened. Installation is a few days on most properties. Alarms come out on dry-contact relays into whatever alarm panel, CCTV or automation system is already in the house, so nothing has to be replaced. Problem
A long boundary with nobody watching it.
Hedges, walls and mature trees that give an intruder cover.
Cameras that lose most of their value after dark.
Open ground and drives with no fence to mount a sensor on.
Solutions
Detection at the boundary, not at the front door.
Zoned alerts that name the section that was crossed.
Buried sensors where nothing should be visible.
Dry-contact output into the alarm panel already fitted.
Value Delivered
Alerts before entry, not after
Nothing visible from the house
Holds up in wind, rain and snow
