The Marinet is a fiber optic, cut through detection underwater security barrier: an alarmed anti swimmer, diver and frogman net for both underwater and above water perimeter protection. The net itself is the sensor, so there is no gap between detection points.
The system is a crisscross array of electronic fiber optic net reinforced with Kevlar and steel cable, designed to prevent an undetected breach of waterways, ports and waterside facilities.
- The net itself is the sensor: gap free detection across every panel.
- Built from 5 x 5 m (16 x 16 ft) panels; each panel can act as a detection zone.
- Passive system; alarms trigger on direct cut or extreme bending only.
- Freestanding or attached to fixed and floating structures.
General Description
The Marinet was designed for waterways and underwater areas that require a smart barrier across the waterside approach with a low false alarm rate. It protects waterside perimeters from intruders such as speed boats, divers, floating explosive packages and other water based threats.
The sensor cable comes in grid panels with reinforced plastic clips at every juncture and a 160 x 160 mm square mesh. The clips and cable are designed so that neither can be disassembled or cut without triggering an alarm.
Unique Operational Capabilities
Easy deployment. Attaches to fixed positions such as an oil rig pole, cooling water canal wall, jetty or pier, or to floating structures such as a stabilized buoy or floating barrier.
Scalable. Fitted to the end user’s length requirements, deployable to a depth of 25 m (82 ft), and expandable as requirements change.
Integrated monitoring. Connects to the RBtec control and monitoring system via RS-485 or TCP/IP. The net is divided into detection zones defined by the end user, and any alarm is displayed on a graphic color map showing the alarming zone.
